Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal

Warm Welcome!

The Department of Earth and Environmental Environmental Sciences (EES), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal, cordially invites you to the Rock Deformation and Structures biennial conference scheduled for October 22 to 24, 2024.

The significance of Structural Geology and Tectonics in Earth Sciences has reached unprecedented heights, playing a pivotal role in understanding our planet's evolution, managing dwindling natural resources like minerals, oil, gas, and groundwater, and addressing escalating natural hazards such as earthquakes, landslides, and volcanic eruptions.

This conference aims to unite academics and professionals in these fields, fostering discussions on recent breakthroughs. Originating in 2009 during a tribute at Jadavpur University to Prof. Subir Kumar Ghosh, a pioneer in Indian Structural Geology, this biennial conference has seen seven editions across various cities.

Continuing this legacy, IISER Bhopal proudly hosts RDS 8 from October 22 to 24, 2024, complemented by a Post-Conference field trip for participants from October 25 to 27, 2024, and a Pre-conference workshop on October 21, 2024.
